JCTV4

JCTV-4 is the John Carroll University Campus TV News Source. From 2015-2016, I was the first female President in the decades-long history of the organization. Prior to, I was also the first female Sports Director from 2014-2015. Throughout my four years with JCTV-4, I have served as a Producer, Reporter, and Anchor for Sports, Entertainment, News and Political shows, as well as an In Studio & Field Cameraperson.

John Carroll University Dance Team

The JCU Dance Team is a spirit squad which performs at all home Football Tailgates, Football & Men's Basketball Games,with special performances at Pep Rallies, Women's Basketball Games, Hockey Games, and Fundraisers. Additionally, we perform at the Cleveland Cavaliers' Pregame Show annually. I have been a member of the Dance Team since I was a freshman. Sophomore and junior year, I was the treasurer. My senior year, I was the Captain. Because we do not have a formal coach, the captain serves the team as one. The captain conducts all aspects of the team’s success, including dances, organization, practices, uniforms, performances, and funding.

Work Experience

Friday Night Touchdown Intern at WJW-TV Fox 8 News

Fall Semester of my Senior Year, I worked as an Intern for Fox 8's Emmy Award Winning "Friday Night Touchdown." Each week, I had to contact the athletic directors/secretaries/head football coaches to gather the updated variety football rosters of the high schools that the FNTD team were filming that week. Then, I had to forward these rosters to my internship advisor/FNTD coordinator, Mr. Nicolas Kovach. Additionally, I created a professional twitter account (@Fox8Rachel) to connect with viewers and promote the show. With this account, I would find out if there were any special events occurring at the games we were going to that week and relay that information to the crew.

On Fridays, I helped plug in live score updates from nearly a hundred teams around the area for the Fox 8 website. These scores were primarily gathered via twitter and radio. When the games were over, I sent the final scores to the reporters and script writers for the show.
