October, 06 2020 - Verified by University of FindlayEvery day I would herd in all of the milking cows -usually 12 out of 15 head- and wash them before attaching them to the automatic milker. I would then be responsible for release each 'batch' of 6 cows when they were done and then empty the milk into a separate vat. I would then have to clean out all of the tubing for the machines ad pressure wash the entire dairy barn, taking about an hour or more total. Other responsibilities varied day by day, including, but not limited to: collecting and washing eggs, cleaning out the chicken coups, feeding and watering all the animal pens in the morning, making and processing cheese and beef jerky, labelling and filling milk jugs, sorting and labelling egg cartons, sorting produce and discarding rotten ones, catching loose chicks and attending to the calves that were separated from the milking mothers. On Tuesdays, I would also be responsible for delivering company orders across a 60-mile radius, and contacting customers if they weren't there to pick up their orders or if they had an outstanding balance.
