Ensures success of battalion operations by providing supervision, counseling, training, and mentor-ship to S3 junior enlisted; forecasts, inventories, and manages over 7 million dollars in ammunition for battalion size and lower training missions, force protection, and additional details; provides training and education to S3 officers, junior enlisted, and peers in areas of emphasis ranging from ammunition, infantry tactics, and TOC responsibilities.
Master Gunner specific duties:
Develop or conduct training and certification of vehicle crew evaluators.
Assist all elements within the unit concerning gunnery training.
Forecast all ammunition and ranges for training.
Manage gunnery records, gunnery skills testing records, and turbulence rosters.
Coordinate and control training devices.
Execute gunnery training.
