Service Learning
To fulfill a Service-Learning requirement for my first Education class at Emmanuel (EDUC 1111), I tutored English Language Learning (ELL) students ages 5-9 with their math, science, and English homework, as well as their assigned reading time. Kept students engaged with the tasks they had to complete and gave guidance when needed. Since this was my first time working with children in an academic setting, I gained a strong foundation in instruction that Ive incorporated in every Education experience Ive had since.

Tutor at - Freelance

Tutored for two families who formed a "pod" for their children who were doing virtual elementary school two days a week. Two of the children were in 2nd grade and the other two were in 4th grade. Helped the children stay on task during their Zoom classes and gave assistance when their teachers were unable to for the whole school day. Tutoring not only strengthened my instruction abilities, but helped me develop stronger communication and organization skills.

Alternated nannying for two families living in the Greater Boston area for 4-5 hours every weekday; one having children ages 4 and 7 (June-October) the other having children ages 6, 11, and 13 (July-December). Helped these two groups of parents by keeping their children busy, active, and creative while they juggled their jobs and other tasks life threw at them. On top of providing childcare, I also assisted with tasks around the house, running errands, and taking care of their pets. Nannying significantly sharpened my childcare skills, time management abilities, and communication.
