Regan Hulsing

I have participated in UI Dance Marathon all 4 years at Iowa. 3 of those years, I had the opportunity to serve on leadership committees. Each leadership position required attendance to weekly committee meetings, monthly all-leadership meetings, and two monthly dancer meetings. Each position had additional participation unique to the role. I joined the Operations Committee in September 2017 as a freshman. Operations members were required to attend work days throughout the year in DM to create some of the decorations for the Big Event, and eventually work at the Big Event to make sure it "operates" smoothly. In March 2019, I was given the position of a Lime Captain on the Recruitment and Retention committee for the 2019-2020 school year. In this role, I recruited students to participate in the organization by attending campus and family events, retained dancers by providing resources to help them raise at least $500, and provided new ideas and perspectives to the entire committee. In March 2020, I was given the position of a Family Rep Leader on the Family Relations committee for the 2020-2021 school year. In this role, I connect participants to families who are fighting or who have fought childhood cancer to build relationships, create entertaining videos for inpatient children fighting cancer to engage with during their stay, and interact with families affected by childhood cancer through video calls, email, and snail mail. Through my entire involvement with UI Dance Marathon as a college student, I accumulation donations over $10,000 for the kids. Visit dance marathon.uiowa.edu to learn more about this organization.

Took the NHS Council position for Mini Dance Marathon Chair, and led the planning of an event that raised $6,842 for the University of Iowa Dance Marathon.
