Activities

American Sign Language

This club consisted of learning the basics of sign language. We started off with the American Sign Language fingerspelling, so we could virtually communicate with anybody who is deaf/hearing impaired to at least a small degree. As the club progressed, we learned more about signing and the culture of sign language. The head of the club was actually in a relationship with a deaf man, and he would co-host the club. It really was a great experience.

Executive Board

During my last half of highschool, I decided to get more involved. As a member of the Executive Board, we were responsible for managing our classes' finances, set up and run fundraisers, plan and execute prom, etc. Each member of the club had a set responsiblity, depending on what we were doing that week. For example, on many occasions, I had to contact shop owners and see if they would be willing to either make a donation to our class, or buy things from a discounted price from them.

Criminal Justice Management Club

In this club, we fundraise and plan events relating to the Criminal Justice System. This year, we had a K9 fundraiser, where police from the area, and their dogs came to Nichols College. At this event, I helped sell food and raffle tickets.

Intramural Flag Football

Each week there would be a game, at the start of the club we were placed in randomized teams, not knowing anybody. As the weeks progressed, the teams bonded and gained chemistry. This sport took a lot of team work, communication, and hardwork.

Waitress at The Admiral English Pub

I Started as a bus and hostess, then I was promoted to a waitress in October 2017. Responsible for greeting guests with a smile, ensure high quality of food, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Job duties include:
Communicate with customers in order to resolve complaints and/or ensure satisfaction.
Roll silverware, set up dining areas to prepare for the next shift or for large parties.
Know the menu and drinks, be able to explain daily specials and personal recommendations to guests.
Enforce rules or regulations by checking patrons' identification to assure they meet minimum requirement for the consumption of alcoholic beverages.
Demonstrate proficiency in mathematics by tallying up checks for each patron.
