Samie Hayward

My favorite memories are sunny days outside with a dog named Oreo. Since I was a kid, I've loved observing animals behave in their natural environments. I spent a year caring for and walking with dogs at Homeward Pet Adoption Center. Sometimes the work was messy or tiring, but it was worth it to feel like I'd been able to help the dogs destress a little and to connect with them. I'm looking for opportunities to work with every animal I can - though canids like wolves and reptiles like snakes are of particular interest right now! I'm currently taking classes in biology, herpetology, and primitive survival skills! The photo of me shows a squirrel hut I learned to build thanks to my awesome PED teacher at Castleton University!
