Amanda Sharp

I am a senior at Widener University pursuing Bachelor's Degrees in Biology and Psychology as well as a minor in Sociology. I am a member of the Widener Honors Program in General Education, a member of the Widener Chapter of the International Psychology Honors Society (Psi Chi), a member of the Widener Chapter of the International Social Science Honors Society (Pi Gamma Mu), and a member of the Honors Society for Collegiate Leadership and Achievement. In both my junior and senior years I have been named to Widener University's Dean's List of the College of Arts and Sciences. During both my freshman and sophomore years at Widener University I received Academic Honors. I was a member of the Widener NCAA Division III Women's Softball Team my freshman and sophomore years. In the beginning of my junior year, I decided to end my career as a collegiate athlete in order to further advance my academic education. This past year, I was honored with the opportunity to participate as a research assistant in an undergraduate research study conducted by the Psychology Department at Widener University. Furthermore, during my senior year I conducted three different research study projects associated with my biology major, my psychology major, and my sociology minor. As it has been my goal to become a physical therapist, I have accumulated 90+ hours of observation/volunteer experience in the field of physical therapy, including in-patient and out-patient facilities. I have also pursued being an EMT in order to gain more hands-on experience and I am in the process of acquiring my certificate. Currently, I am in the process of reviewing Physicians Assistant Programs offered at various institutions to pursue a career as a physicians assistant.
