The program itself is geared toward preparing youth for work by providing them with the opportunity to gain work experience while also learning crucial skills for the workplace. Those in the program are taught a variety of things such as what appropriate professional attire is required for the workplace, how to be independent in any job position, how to keep a timesheet, and the importance of professionalism.
Responsible for completing a variety of daily tasks throughout the summer such as inventory, repairing books, and assisting customers as well as other employees. For a two-week period near the end of summer, the registration of all high school students at Ironwood High School occurs. Responsibilities in that two week period included gathering materials specific to each students class schedule in a timely manner while directing employees and volunteers.
