Matthew Sheffield

I am an incoming junior at Lehigh University majoring in Finance and Marketing with a minor in entrepreneurship. I am involved in various organizations including being the president of the TAMID Group, a professional consulting organization with over 50 members which works with Israeli tech companies to develop strategic solutions to their problems. In addition, I am on the executive board of the Marketing Club, and working to promote furthered involved with the AMA and our student body. Finally, I have been fortunate to work closely with the Baker Institute of Entrepreneurship to develop programming and opportunities for Lehigh's vibrant community of student entrepreneurs. In addition to being highly involved on my campus in various organizations and holding leadership positions, I am a passionate entrepreneur having started my first business in high school. Following the development of a large e-commerce business sourcing items wholesale from Asia I decided to move into marketing, opening a business focused on sharing customers between up and coming boutique e-retailers. Subsequently, I moved into the mobile application space where my android app, Friend Lock, was featured for several months in the Amazon Top Free Utilities (Top 100) list. Recognizing my interest for developing strategic solutions to problems, I began offering business and technical consulting services to companies. One of my more prominent projects was working with a group who appeared on the TV show Shark Tank, developing an iPhone and Android registration app for their customers, resolving a potential weakness in their business model the Sharks had recognized. I am currently working on developing a privacy focused social networking startup, we are currently in the process of raising our seed funding round.
