Sirwoo is a Georgia Tech Biomedical Engineering Alumnus, originally from Daejeon, South Korea. Currently, she works at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Cancer Clinical Trials Office, working as a Clinical Research Assistant alongside Harvard Medical School faculty in clinical trials regarding lymphoma and leukemia. She has also previously worked at the Brigham and Women's Hospital as a Clinical Research Assistant assisting Harvard Medical School faculty in clinical trials related to cardiac amyloidosis, funded by the National Institute of Health and American Heart Association. She is also an inventor that has filed a provisional patent with interventional radiologists at Emory University School of Medicine for a device that stabilizes biliary catheters for unhindered bile flow. She is also an avid researcher, with 4+ experience of in vitro and clinical research experience. She is equipped with a wide range of skills, from advanced wet lab skills (ranging from cardiovascular tissue mechanics to in vitro cell culturing techniques) to assisting in clinical trials and regulatory documents. She is also an educator, with 3+ years of the application of physics, fluid dynamics and transport in biological systems, peer advising, as well as a leader in numerous executive and government positions.
