Board Member at State Board of Emergency Medical, Fire, and Transportation Services
Nominated by the Ohio Fire Chiefs' Association and appointed by Ohio Governor John Kasich, I sit as one of twenty total board members, and am one of two fire chiefs representing the Ohio Fire Chiefs' Association on the Board. As part of the Board of Emergency Medical, Fire, and Transportation Services (EMFTS) we are responsible for several aspects of regulation regarding emergency medical services in Ohio, including: establishing training and certification standards for emergency medical services personnel, accreditation of EMS training programs, approval of EMS continuing education sites, oversight of Ohios trauma system, oversight of the EMS grant program, providing grants for training, equipment and research, Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) program coordination, licensing of Ohios medical transportation services,coordination of the Regional Physician Advisory Boards, collection and analysis of data submitted to the EMS Incident Reporting System and the Ohio Trauma Registry, and investigations to ensure compliance with the Ohio Revised and Administrative Codes.

I worked the WPIAL Big 56 for 5A and 6A girls basketball. I serve on the chapter boards of our officials chapters in football and baseball, and am the local rules interpreter for baseball. I have worked interdistrict (state) playoffs with Sweet 16 appearances in basketball and baseball, and the Final Four in football.

* Served six years as departments Assistant Fire Chief, and then was promoted to Fire Chief on
January 1st, 2012.
* Maintain command of Division of Emergency Medical Services and Division of Fire
Inspection/Investigation.
* Initiated an Advanced Life Support (paramedic) EMS transport service; the first in the 60-year
history of the agency.
* Instrumental in developing a fire prevention program, with our local K-12 school system all housed
on one campus, and moving toward a more regionalized manner of operations.
* Responsible for obtaining a Certificate of Approval as an EMS Continuing Education center from
the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Division of EMS, and functioning as the Director of this
center.
* Interacting with other agencies in Trumbull County, such as the Special Operations Group
Advisory Board, Trumbull County Safe Communities, and the Trumbull County Mental Health
Board to provide more extensive quality services to all community members.
