My name is Andrew Nix, and Ive worked in the utility industry for over a decade. Currently, Im a System Operator at North Georgia EMC, where I ensure the reliable operation of our electrical distribution system. My role involves outage management, system monitoring, and making decisions that directly impact the quality of service for our members. I hold an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Electric Power Technology with a specialization in system design. Through this program, I gained experience in system load flow, fault studies, and substation layouts. Im now pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) in Energy Management at Bismarck State College to further develop my leadership and management skills in the energy industry. Throughout my career, Ive completed specialized training through Northwest Lineman College and TVPPA, which has strengthened my expertise in system operations. Im passionate about finding innovative ways to improve energy delivery and ensure system reliability. My goal is to one day join the executive leadership team and contribute to shaping the future of our industry. When Im not working, I enjoy learning more about energy trends and sharing my knowledge through writing, including my blog, The Inrush Report. Energy isnt just my careerits my passion, and I take pride in helping power the communities we serve.
