My academic focus is on human-environment interactions, particularly as related to culture and wildfire, from a critical social science perspective. I received my PhD from Clark University in 2007, and was an adjunct at Pima Community College in Tucson for three semesters before beginning work at Slippery Rock University. I am currently chair of the Department of Geography, Geology, and the Environment. Specialties: Q method, social aspects of environmental issues, wildfire management, environmental philosophy In addition to my academic position, I run two companies: Mapsburgh specializes in cartographic art, including paper cutout street maps and fantasy-style maps of real places. My work can be found at mapsburgh.com, or through my Etsy shop, http://etsy.com/shop/Mapsburgh Glittercats Fine Amusements (co-owned with Cheyenne Grimes) is a game design studio specializing in tabletop roleplaying games and micro card games. Current products include The Fool's Journey and Laser Kittens.
