I believe in hands on coursework and research that involves practical application of skills you use in college. At Elmira we strive to get students into the field often whether that is in the local area or farther away such as St. John in the US Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, Hawaii, or Alaska. I teach many interdisciplinary environmental science courses including: Introduction to Environmental Science, Earth's Climate, Geographic Information Systems, Environmental Geology, Oceanography, Environmental Hydrology, New York Environmental Field Methods, and Tropical Environmental Field Methods. I am interested in research in environmental, earth, and marine science disciplines. My favorite research involves combining all three for a better understanding of how a system works. I am currently focused on quantifying the impacts of land use change on tropical systems from the watershed to the coastal zone.

EC Environmental Club

I am the advisor to the EC Environmental Club. We focus on green initiatives on campus such as recycling and composting. We also have recently built an Augmented Reality Sandbox which we will use to educate younger students.
