Tess Hensley

Throughout her early career, despite a few different jobs, one thing that has remained the same for Tess Hensley is her passion for helping people and a big smile when that goal is accomplished. She has also always enjoyed writing, design, connecting with others, and new challenges. In the Fall of 2017, Tess began pursuing her Associates Degree in Speech Communication at Georgia State University Perimeter College as a first generation college student. At the end of her first semester there, she kept her HOPE Scholarship, started working in the Admissions Office as a Student Assistant, maintained a 4.0 GPA, and became a member of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. After graduating in Spring 2019, Tess plans to transfer to the University of Alabama to become a part of one of the top five Public Relations programs in the nation. There she will not only gain a BA in PR, but invaluable skills she can use to further her career and life. Tess has developed strong leadership, writing, editing, social media, public speaking and communication skills, which will give her the ability to be successful in any field. She look forwards to gaining experience with PR campaigns in both agency and in-house settings, implementing media strategies, measuring results across traditional media and digital channels, as well as experimenting with brand storytelling. She cannot wait to expand her network and personal knowledge of an ever-changing industry like PR. Outside of work or school, you can find her cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide during football season, reading lots of books, drinking too much coffee, and spending time with her friends, family, and dog, Thisby.
