Olivia Johnson
I am a fresh graduate from Purdue University and an Interpreter at the Indianapolis Zoo. My partner in crime is my German Shepherd, Nala. My dream is to construct a successful wildlife corridor in both Borneo and Sumatra and reconnect orangutan homes fragmented by palm oil plantations. I aspire to both save this critically endangered species and support the local economy of the Indonesian and Malaysian people. I want to cultivate an atmosphere of interconnectivity where my local community feels the direct impact their consumerism has on Southeast Asian lives and orangutan survivability. I think it is imperative to involve local businesses and large corporations with stakes in palm oil for both accountability and project funding.
