SciCAD is my company and I created it after being laid-off due to the Coronavirus. It's basically a specialty consultant company that focuses on helping companies with their CAD (computer-aided-design) / IT infrastructure and workflows. I'm currently 27 and have been building / repairing my own computers (and for many others too) since I was around 10-11 and I started to use free CAD software around then as well. After finishing both my AS in Civil Engineering Technology and AS in Architectural Engineering Technology from NHTI and working in the field and in the office for the last 5+ years, I've found a particular niche that my company fills.
The short and sweet: I work with engineering, drafting and IT companies to optimize their entire workflow (relating to my specialty CAD programs) or teach them how to do it themselves.
-Updates / creates / enforces Company drafting standards
-Develops AutoCAD entities / functions such as LISP Routines, .arg files for CUI, tool palette functions, dynamic blocks, new templates, ctb files and more for a better Nobis Drafting experience
-Develops drafting protocols
-Project setup for new projects in AutoCAD Civil 3D
-Provides various data analysis of CAD Model. (Surface analysis, cut/fill analysis, parcel and lot coverage, general data analysis)
-Advanced Drafting and 3D modeling for AutoCAD Civil 3D & AutoCAD
-Extraction of contour data from LIDAR using QGIS
-Analysis of proper etransmit procedure for each project depending on data set, format and software that the client, subcontractor, engineer or architect is using. This includes etransmit procedures for Civil 3D, AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, Revit and Microstation. As well as a few others
-Management of Ricoh/Kip/Canon Plotters
-Runs computer efficiency/utilization tests with various software to ensure computers are being used to max potential
-Creates powerpoint presentations and SOPs for drafting, CAD standards, autocad and civil 3d functions

-Manages plotters and troubleshoots issues with ctb and pc3 related files
-Edits/adds to SQL database for pipe network components
-Recommends improvements in CAD software
-Advises on computer hardware and related technology
-Optimizes Civil 3D/ AutoCAD productivity through evaluation, selection, of CAD application software, techniques, practices, and equipment
-Creates gravity and pressure pipe networks to model underground utilities for site design projects
-Creates surfaces and corridors for volumetric analysis for cut/fill and other methods
-Designs concept plans for parking lots, subdivisions
- Drawing setup for new projects in Revit and AutoCAD MEP
- General drafting for HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection trades
- Develop coordination drawings between other trades (Example would be drawing duct work around plumbing piping so it will fit in the field.)
- As-Built drawings
- Setup of company standards for AutoCad & Revit
- General drafting with AutoCAD MEP and Revit
- Plotter/printer support
- Management of HP/RIcoh Plotters

-Confer with engineers about preparing plans
-Evaluate pre-construction field conditions
-Observe project sites and evaluate contractors work to detect problems with a design
-Help to ensure that project construction conforms to design specifications and applicable codes
-Prepare reports and document project activities and data
-Collect data and prepare analyses
-Set up and help maintain project files and records
Lab Work:
-Test and analyze samples to determine their content and characteristics, using laboratory tools or testing equipment

-Prepare reports and document project activities and data
-Collect data and prepare analyses
Similar to a TA at UNH, I performed the same functions for AR-104 at NHTI.
Alongside my TA hours, I worked with the academic learning office as a private tutor for AutoCAD and Revit.
