• Translating academic articles from French into English, specializing in those of an economic and sociological nature

• Conducting academic research for book proposal and other assorted projected; tasks include monitoring and tabulating several blogs written by women living in various countries of the Middle East, searching academic databases for relevant peer-reviewed articles, finding and checking out relevant books/journals, transcribing interviews, and assisting in various other miscellaneous tasks.

• Assisting both the department’s Outreach Director and 20 visiting scholars from Gazi University in Ankara, Turkey • Facilitating cultural and social exchanges with visiting scholars for each academic semester • Organizing and facilitating outdoor trips and shopping excursions • Organizing and facilitating weekly “Turkish Coffee Hours” for students and faculty at the Middle East Institute • Supervising 5 student assistants in daily tasks, overseeing their completion in according to the Outreach Director’s needs. • Organizing a yearly book award for the Middle East Outreach Council, contacting various publishers and requesting possible submissions. • Daily office tasks, printing, scanning, lunch duty, ordering supplies.
