Trina Pham

I am currently an Honors student at Clemson University, pursuing Bioengineering with a concentration in Biomaterials. Currently, I work as a Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) Mentor to ensure the success of freshmen women in the field of STEM. My goal is to educate, recruit, and retain underrepresented populations in STEM through mentorship, academic coaching, and counseling. After recognizing the importance of ensuring minority students feeling comfortable and supported through their collegiate careers, I have been at the forefront of impediment and working closely with campus officials to truly make an impact at Clemson and the surrounding areas. After graduation, I plan to pursue a career in the patent and policy-making sector for science and technology. While I see myself maintaining a connection to the medical device and regenerative medicine fields, my skills are best suited to a career involving more interactions with individuals and bringing new technologies to the front of the market in order to directly benefit human health. I plan to pursue a dual M.P.P. and J.D. program to combine my passions of public policy and biomedical innovation. I hope to amplify the equity and accessibility for minorities in the patenting industry.
