In summary each shift is outlines as: preparing meals from scratch, cleaning one to two resident's rooms, complete elder' laundry, assist in one or two showers, and be a friendly face for socialization. I also handout oral medications, rub topical medications, and administer insulin injections - making sure to read the glucometer correctly.
At my local nursing home, I record all patient-based entries electronically and verbally in an informative and descriptive manner. I also provide high-quality patient care to fifteen residents each shift.
My main responsibility is to assist the kitchen staff in preparing recipes. This includes slicing and dicing a variety of meats, vegetables, and fruits with knives or other large cutting equipment. A few other tasks include cleaning all equipment, dishes, countertops, and the floors. I also help assemble the main course and dessert plates for the Special Dining Services when special dining events are held.
I worked independently while giving cares to dogs and cats at my local veterinary clinic, where I worked throughout high school. A few tasks included administering medical supplements and insulin injections to the boarding dogs and cats. Also, I practiced standard sanitation and disinfecting proceeders throughout my shift: cleaning each inside and outside kennel, wiping down all counters, washing all bowels and towels, and disinfecting all medical equipment.
