Vanessa Edokpa is a fourth year honors psychology student at Georgia State University. She is best known for being a servant leader and a creative. Vanessa has a passion for mental health advocacy, creativity, and diversity & inclusion. Vanessa hopes to go into the field of Pediatric Psychology, eventually earning a Ph.D., and focusing her research and clinical interests on the following: Integrated Care, Mental Health promotion and prevention, Parental involvement to improve child mental health and physical well-being, and Addressing Mental Illness Stigma and Disparities in the African American community. She currently works in the Child Health and Medical Pain (CHAMP) pediatric psychology research lab as a Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) research fellow at Georgia State University. Her university involvement also extends to serving as the current Miss Georgia State Royalty for the year 2021-2022 as well the Mental Health Advocacy Chair for her universitys Active Minds organization and co-Event Coordinator for their African American Student Association.
