Andrew Weiss

I recently graduated Miami University with the class of December 2018, meaning I completed my 4 year bachelor's degree in three and a half years. I am currently searching for jobs in a wide variety of industries, and my ideal job is one that boasts a strong training program and other opportunities for continued growth. With regard to my most recent professional experience, during the summer between my junior and senior year at Miami University, I interned for Welch Allyn in my hometown of Skaneateles, NY. This was a 12-week program intended to give students professional experience and introduce them to careers in the medical device industry. At Welch Allyn, I worked within the Global Regulatory Affairs department where I contributed toward the team's product data management efforts. This internship gave me more experience working in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP database software, and the regulatory environment within the medical device industry. This was an amazing experience that opened my eyes to an industry I never would have guessed I'd be interested in. In the Fall of 2017, I assisted a Farmer School of Business professor in the research of how consumers perceive and interpret advertising messages. I assisted in the identification of survey content, coded surveys, and became CITI Certified to conduct surveys on human subjects. Prior to that, my most valuable professional experience comes from working as a counselor at summer camp, emphasizing the development of relationships with both campers and colleagues. In the summer of 2015 I was promoted to senior counselor where I not only had to manage the campers but also the counselors in all camp activities. This was most valuable to me because I discovered what type of work environment best suits my personality.
