Adam Wise

Mentored with Alan Grossman, the Financial Advisor of the Powell Edward Jones branch. During this mentorship experience, Mr. Grossman showed me many aspects of a career in financial advising, including the stock market, investing, and life insurance. Throughout the program, I composed a mock portfolio which I tracked weekly, sat in on conference calls, acclimated myself to researching for stocks and ETFs, and took part in a networking meeting through AmSpirit Business Connections, where I met professionals in multiple financial areas, including accountancy, insurance, and real estate.

Began working as a Teacher Assistant until promoted to Homework Helper summer of 2016. In Homework Help, I worked with elementary and middle school students on their math homework, whether it was from school or their Math Plus Academy curriculum. Through this, I was able to develop my communication skills with the students and their parents, as I would give them overviews of each homework help appointment so the parents were up to date. I was promoted to Director June of 2016. Responsibilities of this position included aiding callers who needed information about Math Plus Academy programs, signing families up for classes and/or homework help appointments, organizing communication to potential clients, and overseeing the efficient operation summer camps for students.
