Jacob Woods

I'm a freshman Chemical Engineering major at Miami University through the Honors College with a Paper Engineering minor. I am very excited to be involved in undergraduate research this semester as well as taking advantage of all the resources and meeting all the people Miami University has to offer. I do some hobby programming and electronics in my free time. I am also actively learning Greek. Previously I worked at Kimmey Plumbing, Co. as a plumber's assistant where I got lots of hands-on practical experience in a blue-collar construction environment as well as developing new skills. During high school, I was involved in the school's quiz team as the physical science and math specialist as well as the autonomous programming lead for the FIRST robotics team. I have also participated in a couple statewide engineering design contests, being selected as a finalist for one of them. I am currently looking for internships and other career opportunities in my fields of study. One of my best strengths is that I'm a quick learner and a diligent worker. I make sure to do everything to the best of my ability and don't hesitate to ask for outside help when needed.
